Lisa Haagen grew up in a very musical family & gravitated early on towards the drum set. It wasn’t until entering her college years that she started with the guitar while she fell in love with the art of lyricism.

Lisa Haagen, (pronounced Hay-gan) has a new CD out called With Honey
Seafoam Green is the song she is singing in this video from Santa Monica CA, US

In our first segment of episode 9 Street I Am TV LIVE Calvin Gold was out and agreed to an interview and performed 3 songs. When we got there he was just finishing a song from his up coming album as yet untitled.

You can hear the whole song “Superman”

After a bit of conversation and he reminds me his name is Calvin and not Elliot (I obviously have Elliot Gould on the brain) he performs “Stayin On the Line” another original composition.

He sends us on our way with a cover tune, “No Diggity”

You can reach Calvin Gold on Twitter @theCalvingold. Calvin Gold will be out and about in Los Angeles while he is recording here so give him a shout out on Twitter and find out where he will be next.

Our second performer in the live broadcast turned out to be a street preacher without portfolio. In other words no contact info was in view during the shooting. I would have asked him but I didn’t want to interrupt so if you know and you want us to tell people sind us a message on twitter or

One of the exciting and also frustrating things about showing up with your camera and doing a live broadcast is you never know what will happen. Well sometimes nothing happens. So because of the nothing factor we went to lunch and when we came back we shot a live segment after dark of Lisa Haagen who has just released he hew CD With Honey.  This is the Title song

Alysha Brilla with New CD New Video

Alysha Brilla a Canadian-Tanzanian singer-songwriter from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada is a part time busker full time entertainer. She recently caught the attention of Pro Busker member and film maker Joan Navarra. Pro Buskers is a community for all Professional Buskers and those who like to discover new talent. They are dedicated to supporting buskers/street-performers from all over the world.

Alysha was performing in a night club in Barcelona when Joan caught her performance and suggested doing a video. They decided to do a song from her new CD “Alysha Brilla In My Head” which us her second CD so far

Alysha says of the video “I went to Spain and came back with this awesome music video for my song, “Nobody”. Check out the sights and sounds of Spain through my eyes and remember that you can pick up my album on Itunes!. The song has a distinctive African motif running through it with some of the song sung in Swahili and shows a simple and alluring songwriting style.

When Alysha is busking you can usually find her performing around the Toronto area. However if you would rather see her on a legitimate stage you can catch her at one of her upcoming gigs in September at TERRY FOX RUN! Sept 15 11:45 am and The Painted Lady 17th of Sept both venues are in Toronto.

Andrew Potter Fringe Festival Hollywood Interview

OK it’s 1980

Where do you go when you graduate from the University of Rhode Island with a BA; major in English Lit; and you want to enjoy a profitable adventure?  Well if you are Andrew Potter you learn to juggle fire. Then you move to the city of San Francisco, CA, US, create the High Street Circus, work out some heart stopping routines with your college buddy, take up residence in a beer vat at the old Hamm’s (The Beer Refreshing) factory, get yourself on stage busking then travel the world.

Since most people these days or any other days, would not pursue that kind of road to high street, which interestingly enough is the name of Andrew Potter’s new stage production “The Road To High Street”, it makes a person want to ask; Who is Andrew Potter? And what kind of person would do that?

In this video interview recorded after one of his scheduled appearances at the Fringe Festival in Hollywood, we decided to seek the answers to questions not revealed in the theater production.Iru Streetiam Iru Streetiam

Now in the final stages of development, “The Road to High Street” is being fully realized as Andrew Potter takes the show across the nation.  If you would like to make your participation a part of the final production, then enjoy a unique audience experience at a theater near you.

Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade is well known for its street musicians. Clare Means has been singing there since 2007.

As a singer-songwriter, she has a developed a faithful following who respect her artistry.

I first met Clare on the Promenade last year and have experienced a number of her sessions.

Clare took time to reflect on her start in song writing, singing and playing guitar.

Tony Morris: When did begin to take music seriously?

Clare Means: My interest in songwriting began in 2005. My sister gave me a guitar for my birthday and I started teaching myself guitar by looking up chord charts and then looking up the chards to some of my favorite songs on the Internet. Then I went through a breakup soon after I started learning guitar so it inspired me to write. Then I just started writing about everything I could think of… READ IT ALL IN THE SANTA MONICA MIRROR

Scum steal from 15 year old Busker

Scottish singer, songwriter and guitarist Murdo Mitchell was robbed while doing a street performance in Glasgow. Stolen was his signature red Ozark guitar which is featured on all of his work and on which he wrote all of his songs including the one featured here from his official YouTube channel.  His amp, microphone, and lead sheets were also ripped off which means that he can no longer busk until he can replace it all which does not seem likely for a while. According to the Evening times; The theft happened on Thursday between 8-11pm near the Halt Bar in Woodlands Road, where Murdo’s dad, John, 47, organizes stand-up comedy gigs. Since it happened at the bar their is a chance that insurance will pay for it but they are checking into that now.

The guitar case that had the guitar in it had the words Advertise Here painted on it. That was the name of his band. If anyone sees it please let him know.
